At last night's regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education, the following action took place:
Ethan Gowler was sworn in as a Board member, taking the seat vacated by the passing of Nathan Pigg.
The Board approved the Consent Agenda consisting of the approval of the agenda, approval and signing of the minutes of the regular meeting on March 23, 2026, approval of bills, payroll, and Treasurer’s Report.
The Board entered into a three-year gas rate agreement with Clearwater Energy.
The Board awarded a playground equipment bid to Hutchison Recreation and Design to rebuild the playground lost to classroom construction.
The Board entered into an agreement with Capella University to accept work-study program students.
The Board approved the updated Joint Agreement between Franklin-Jefferson Special Education District #801 and Bethel Grade School District #82.
The Board heard an update on a Freedom of Information Act response.
The Board entered closed session for approximately an hour and forty-five minutes.
Upon their return from closed session, the Board took the following action:
They approved the district job descriptions as presented.
They approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Bethel Education Association and Bethel Grade School District #82 concerning the extra-curricular stipend schedule.
The Board accepted the resignation of Kristin Tate as Head Volleyball Coach.
The Board authorized the posting of the following coaching positions: Head Girls Basketball, Head Volleyball, and Assistant Softball.
The Board approved the voluntary transfer of Rachel Wagner from Math Interventionist to 4thGrade Teacher.
The Board employed Robin Haake as a Special Education Teacher beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
The Board extended the Superintendent contract of Mr. Charley Cass through the end of the 2028-29 school year.
