At last night's regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education, the following action took place.

The consent agenda was approved consisting of Approval of the agenda, approval and signing of the minutes of the regular meeting on July 27, 2026, and the special meeting on August 4, 2026; approval of bills, payroll, and Treasurer’s Report, Acceptance of Retirement Letter, Adoption of Hazardous Bus Route Resolution, and setting the budget hearing date and time for September 28th, 2026, at 5:15.

Under old business, the FY27 spending reduction plan was adopted. This will be posted on the website soon and is available HERE.

The tentative FY27 budget was adopted and is on display HERE and in the office.

The employee handbook was updated to change the radius for bus travel for sporting events.

The changes to the student/parent handbook were approved. It will be available on the website HERE.

The district bullying policies were reviewed and required no changes.

The Board authorized the superintendent to set a joint meeting with McClellan District #12 to discuss the athletic co-op agreement.

The Board updated the following policies in the policy manual: 2:230, 3:70, 4:175, 5:40, 5:70, 5:140, 5:240, 6:70, 6:80, 6:190, 7:80, 7:130, 8:10, and 8:70.

The Board entered closed session for approximately 50 minutes.

Upon returning to open session, the Board took the following action.

The Board withdrew a letter of retirement that was included in the consent agenda earlier in the meeting.

The Board accepted the resignation of Octavia Greenwalt as assistant cook.

The consideration of a separation agreement was tabled, and no action was taken.

The Board authorized the advertising for an evening custodian and bus driver.

The Board appointed Melissa Williams as the assistant cross-country coach.

Mr. Cass gave the Superintendent's report, which included an enrollment breakdown for the start of the school year and the current progress on the next phase of the building project.

Board members gave comments, which included praise of the primary wing teachers for the decorating of their rooms and hallway in the new addition.
