Softball open fields start next Monday at 9:00 AM. Please come to the softball field through the bus gate. Parents, to avoid traffic problems in an already crowded area, please drop off at the gym lobby and have the players walk around. Please bring your gloves and any equipment you use to play. Bring a water container of some kind. We will have cold water for refills.

Construction fencing has gone up around the north side of the building, and visitors will not be able to follow the dog paws to get to door number one. To get to the office this summer, please enter the gated playground to park and enter door number one through the gate.
The 2026 softball schedule is posted to the website and in the app. It features five home games, and we are hosting a small round-robin tournament.
Prospective pitchers are also welcome to attend pitching workouts with Coach Cass tomorrow and Thursday morning at 9:00 in the gym.

Happy Father's Day from Bethel Grade School.

From our friends at the Southern Illinois Youth Empowerment Network.

The primary wing was able to serve the community a little bit longer today by hosting the Mt. Vernon Fire Department for training. Firefighters practiced ladder work, venting a roof, and breaching walls inside.

We would like to remind everyone that the farewell open house for the old wing of the school building is this evening from 4:00 to 7:00. You may enter through the gym lobby door or the door by the bell on the north side. Feel free to come and go as you please. All the classrooms will be open, and the basement will be open.

Today we celebrated the teaching career of Mrs. Kristin Tate with guests from throughout her tenure in attendance. She served the district for 33 years as a teacher and coach. We wish her well in retirement.

It was a fun last day at Bethel. Congratulations to our talent show winners and a big thank you to the PTO and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for their help and contribution. Have a great summer everyone!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to watch kindergarten graduation today. Another special thanks to our students for cheering them all on.

If your child is going into kindergarten, 2nd, or 6th grades, the State of Illinois requires a completed dental exam. This is a great opportunity to have your child seen before school starts up next year, as we are very limited with dentist's locally that take Medicaid. The Jefferson County Health Department is having a free dental clinic day on June 3rd. If you are in need of your child getting a dental exam, please scan this QR code and get set up to get your child seen or contact the Health Department at the number listed on the flyer.
This will not interfere with Dental Safari coming to the school next year. They will still be here. Your child will not need to see both of them.

A big thank you to everyone who came out today for Pre-K graduation. These little ones look great in Bethel blue.
The 8th grade ceremony will be Tuesday night at 6:00 and the kindergarteners will graduate May 21st at 1:00.
